Dr. Michael R. Mollura is currently a therapist in Beverly Hills, California, with a Ph.D. from Pacifica Graduate Institute (2013) in Clinical Psychology. Dr. Mollura holds a Master’s Degree in Performance Studies from New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts (1991), which included training and research work in dreams, drama, music, theater, and dance.
As a music composer, Dr. Mollura is known for his original film scores to such films as HEAL (currently on Netflix), Hare Krishna, Awake: The Life of Yogananda, and many other projects—including composing original music to Antarctica, produced and written by Dr. Robert Romanyshyn. Michael is currently completing a score for a pilot TV series, Road to Dharma.
As a Clinician, Dr. Mollura shares a private practice with fellow Jungian Dr. Linda O’Dell in Beverly Hills and bases his work on the foundations of Drs. Carl G. Jung and James Hillman. The creator of Dream-Music Therapy, Dr. Mollura composes music to the actual dream reports of his clients as a way of accessing unconscious material to provide healing pathways on both conscious and collective levels. The therapy draws a bridge between Dr. Mollura’s work as an artist and a clinician. Dr. Mollura teaches about the healing components of music, meditation, and dream work to assisted living facilities, where his work comes to the elderly as an intervention for Parkinson’s and Alzheimer’s Diseases. He is currently teaching “Working With Dreams in the Psychoanalytic Relationship” at the Wright Institute in Los Angeles to doctorates and masters level trainees. Dr. Mollura will be a feature presenter at the 2019 Esalen Film Festival, April 28-May 2, featuring a dream music presentation.
