About Ismana Carney

Ismana Carney holds a Ph.D. in Depth Psychology and an M.A. in History with a focus on Comparative World Religions. She teaches college courses in both areas of expertise and oversees student success programs in higher education. Dr. Carney has produced three feature length documentary films on Native American issues that have aired on several PBS channels nationwide, entitled: We Pray with Tobacco; Chief Mountain Hot Shots: Firefighters of the Blackfeet Nation; and The Iron Lodge: Native American Spirituality Behind Bars. She is also the author of Women’s Ways with Fire: Transforming Self in the Heart of Nature. Outskirts Press. 2015.
