Harry Grammer is an artist, activist, and educator. He founded the community- based organization New Earth in 2004 and is an integral part of reforming juvenile justice in Los Angeles. In 2017, Harry was honored as a CNN Hero, and in 2018 was selected one of 20 inaugural Obama Foundation Fellows from over 20,000 applicants in 191 countries. Harry has brought leadership, arts programs, and advocation services to over 15,000 incarcerated and at-promise youth over the past 15 years. In addition to New Earth’s arts and reentry programs and services, New Earth operates the New Earth Arts and Leadership Center in Culver City, which houses their education, job placement, arts, and case management programs. The Transformative Career Institute (formerly Camp Gonzales), a former youth detention site, is being repurposed by New Earth into a voluntary career training center for 18-24 year old systems-impacted youth. Harry has a Ph.D. in the Community, Liberation, and Eco-Psychology program at Pacifica Graduate Institute.
